Beckylynn...
Don't you just hate those emotions? Gosh I remember them so well! I was always strong, independant, tough. Nothing got the best of me. I quit smoking and turned into this whinning, sniffling big baby.
A lot of our emotions are bottled up when we smoke. Face it, we smoked when we were happy, sad, scared, tired... whatever the emotion the cigarette was the way we dealt with it. When we quit, we have to learn how to deal with our emotions another way. It isn't easy but is all part of the quit process. Rewards are an important aspect of your quit. You need to reward yourself frequently for the successes you have achieved here. Six days quit is no small feat. You are doing awesome and are almost through what is known as hell week! Congratulations! What are you going to do to celebrate?
There is also the matter of endorphines. Excercise will get some of those feel good feelings pumping through you system again. Go for a walk and smell the flowers. It will do you a world of good.
Whatever you do, don't smoke. It will just send you right back to square one again and you don't want that! Early in my quit, I kept telling myself...
"everyday is one day closer to never feeling this way again". It is true.
The emotions are something you have to go through and learn how to deal with. I promise you it is worth it. Keep moving forward, one day at a time. You are doing great!
