Good to see your smiling face back with us. Look at you almost six months. Hope you have a big reward planned; mine was a new kitten.

Danno,
Great to see you again! Those weird medical probs seem to be fairly common. Glad you're getting things resolved, though. A lot of us hang out on facebook these days. Search for friends of ssc and you'll find us.

Hey Danno! Good advice from your Doc! "Better to quit before the autopsy!" Age doesn't matter, quitting will help you at any age. When we know better we do better! It will get better!
Glad to see you back! :)

Hi Danno!
I was wondering how you were doing and what you've been up to. I just knew you would not take up smoking again though!! You have had your share of tests to you quit but, look at you? coming up on 6 months. Yay Dan!! Glad you're back and I'm looking forward to celebrating your half year in just a few weeks!
Take care,
G

Hello everyone! Remember me? LOL! Long time no see huh? I hope everyone is well? I've thought of you all often, and even popped in from time to time to read the threads. I see alot of new faces here. AWESOME! Welcome to all the new members! For those who don't know me, my name is Dan.
It's been a crazy few months for me. Thought I had better get back in here and post something to get you all caught up.
This last 5 months have been a real devil for me and my family. During my quit I was having some strange things going on. My B/P started falling like I had hoped it would, but then my feet and ankles started swelling. B/P went back up. WAY up! It jumped to 220/100. My doc put me on blood pressure pills and ran blood work. My cholestrol was slightly elevated, but my triglycerides were through the roof. Normally they should run between 150-200 on the high side. Mine was nearly 3,000. They ran the test 3 times to make sure. LOL! Needless to say...more meds. I then had to take an Echo-Stress test to see if I had any arterial blockages. It came out normal! YAAHHH! So now I'm walking daily and have changed my diet. So far I've lost 8 lbs., and my B/P at last check-in was 118/70. WOOHOO! Go me! I may mess around and get this all lined out yet! LOL!
And if there is any question....I'm still a Non-smoker. I'm NEVER going back. I even made the joke to my doc that I was doing ok until I quit smoking. He said the smoking was actually covering all this up and if I had not quit I probably would not have known anything until after the heart-attack, or God forbid..the autopsy. Scary stuff!
Didn't want to put you all to sleep, but wanted everyone to know whats been going on with me. I'm back now though and plan to pop in daily to throw in my two cents worth. If any of you new quitters are dealing with some of these issues as well, please feel free to contact me ok? I can relay my experiences. Maybe they can help?
Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Dan
