Tension

for 20 år siden 0 5 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Perhaps, some kind of exercise will help. I find that if I stretch or work the area that's bothering me it reduces the stress. That way I am intentionally causing the tension and therefore I'm in control of it. It feels better knowing were the tension is coming from. In the meantime, I just try to stay occupied and not think about it. Easier said than done, of course.

The pain and tension between my shoulder blades is so awful sometimes I just want to cry. It is like the muscles are frozen and have such spasms that nothing helps.

Yes, I can relate very much with the tension. I have only had a couple full blown panic attacks, but the physical discomfort can last for days. I haven't found a very good way to deal yet. Stretching and hot showers help, but generally I just have to wait it out and try to keep my mind off of it. Thinking about it just brings on the real deal. If I lay down, I begin to get that scary detached feeling and that's far worse. After about 36 hours it starts to go away and I'm just exausted.

Ellie, It doesn't seem to matter if I am having attacks or not, my body gets tense, particularly between my shoulders or my neck. For the most part, I've learned to live with it, but we recently moved into a very old house with a claw foot tub. When I feel that knot between my shoulders, I head for a long soak. Seems to relax me.

Thanks Pete for replying, its so comforting to know that someone else had the same problem. Can you also give me any tips on how to relieve some of the tension or do you just take it just as it comes. Again thanks for answering. Ellie

Hi Ellie, I had really bad tension, all over my head and neck and ALOT of tension on the left side of my chest so I was always concerned with my heart. It took a few months before my tension was gone.

Hi Everyone, hope you all had a great christmas and new year.I have been doing quite well lately, but my only problem is with tension, I get it all over my body but mostly on my left side, which really spooks me. Does anyone get this 24/7 or is it something more sinister..Have been to the doctors but he says it is linked to my anxiety, but havent had any attacks for a couple of months now. Can anyone help or sympathize.
