Question about withdrawal symptoms???

LOL Dave - ditto here! Kristilu, I got nausiated when I quit. I also had nosebleeds, and my right ear bled (from the incresed blood flow that was reaching my extremities now). I had tingling in my fingers and toes, hot flashes, sweats, dizziness, irritability, a rash, and at some times I thought that I should have been hospitalized and cursed the world we live in for making places for other drug addictions to go for help, but not smokers because I was sure i was going to die. Like Sue said - if it feels this bad to get off of it - imagine what it's doing to you on it. Remember when you first started smoking? You coughed and gagged. It took your body a while to adjust to all the poisons going into it and function as best as it could - it will take it a while to get back to normal now. Though - the really nasty withdrawls won't go on for very long. You're doing really great! Nothing lasts forever. Kristilu, check out any posts by Mercy, she lists the 4000 odd chemicals in cigs - really wild the poison we used to inhale. Ever since you quit though your body and your lungs started the healing process and you are gaining days of your life back. Isn't that wonderful?? I hope you feel better. Danielle is right, you are best to ask your doctor. I have been on Wellbutrin in the past, not to quit smoking thou. There are many side effects going on and off any kind or antidepressant/anxiety drug. I can testify to that. I did feel nausea for my first three quit days, not really bad, just enough to not feel like eating. Take care of yourself, and best ask your doctor. LOL Dave!! Thanks!! I feel like I'm 30 minutes behind my mind???? Probably a combination of things...the extra oxygen, wellbutrin, getting up much earlier these days.... :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25 Amount Saved: $6.88 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 19 Seconds: 32

Kristilu I'm sure the advice to consult your doctor is right.. "Less serious side effects may be more likely to occur, such as: headache or migraine; nausea, vomiting, constipation, dry mouth; confusion, dizziness, tremors (shaking); appetite changes, weight loss or gain; mild itching or skin rash, increased sweating; or loss of interest in sex. Actually I have most of these and I'm not even on Wellbutrin ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 400 Amount Saved: 110.00 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 14 Mins: 31 Seconds: 37

Kristilu, Please consult your MD as this may or may not be related to the quit aid you are using. He/she is the best authority to make this determination and as such, adjust your dose accordingly. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Kristilu be on guard for all sorts of strange feeling, how ever if it gets to bothersome see your dr. Imagine this, that the lack of that cigarette is making you feel these things, Just how awful they are for you, hang in there, It will get bettwr just takes time, but it can be done you have to want to fight it :) Tresa My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1986 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39,720 Amount Saved: $6,951.00 Life Gained: Days: 283 Hrs: 21 Mins: 49 Seconds: 4

Kristilu, No, nausea is not a common withdrawal symptom linked with quitting. Are you using any quit aids? Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator
