I wouldn't suggest anyone invest their savings in the Bank of Martha. The management is nice but they have some pretty shady practices that have left me wondering where my $5000+ have gone!? Maybe Mrs. Ed is buying designer feedbags? And to be fair, she has to buy twice as many shoes as we humans do ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1247 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,940 Amount Saved: $5,611.50 Life Gained: Days: 97 Hrs: 5 Mins: 26 Seconds: 16

Mr Ed - I know horses need shoes, but I didn't know they needed handbags too. Well, I've got around 6,400 which must be around $13,000. Marhta - I don't know where mine is going! Do you have it in that bank of yours? I've saved close to 10 thousand dollars since I quit! But, I dunno where it went. :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 536 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40,200 Amount Saved: $10,050.00 Life Gained: Days: 47 Hrs: 19 Mins: 22 Seconds: 3

Danielle, It's funny you posted this because I was thinking of something similar last night. If someone phoned up and asked if I was willing to contribute roughly 730 Hours (6 mins x 20 smokes x 365 days) and $1700 a year to anything I would think they were crazy. Then if they told me I would also be shortening my life and depriving myself of natural emotions by doing so I would surely hang up. But, I chose to contribute exactly that to my cigarettes for 15 years. Now I contribute it all to the Bank of Martha :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1246 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,920 Amount Saved: $5,607.00 Life Gained: Days: 97 Hrs: 3 Mins: 28 Seconds: 22

Members, Many people think that quitting smoking is expensive, so decide to continue on smoking. Quitting does cost money for most but no more than smoking and it is only temporary while smoking is not! The average treatment costs $3 to $10 a day and if you have health insurance smoking cession treatments may be covered. Get this: If you smoke a pack a day at $7.00 per pack, thats $49.00 a week, $200.00 a month and $2,555.00 a year spend on cigarettes! If you quit and invested this money every year for 20 years with a 7% return rate, you would have $104,743.00!! Now thats a lot of money! Take a look around at the some of our members quit members to see how much money theyve saved. Old & new quitters, please feel free to post your meters! Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator
