It's so true! My sister and her partner have decided to give Chantix a try, as well! All because they see me standing strong and not smoking.
Let's keep inspiring people!

Thanks Aloha! Yeah, it scares me too. Thanks for the tip. I'll check one of those places out. I'm in Oklahoma City right now seeing the folks (surrounded by chain-smokers and standing strong, by the way!!) so maybe I can find a clinic here. You're the sweetest to take the time to research clinics for me. Thank you again!!!!!
By the way, my mom and step-dad begin taking Chantix on January 1st. And I'm trying to sell this web-site to them, not to mention the whole idea of getting support. Keep your fingers crossed!
Merry Christmas!!!
Love,
Shakes

Shakes,
Most metropolitan areas have free medical clinics. Not the poshest places around, but you can get basic medical care there, as well as medicine usually. And the personnel are usually very nice....doing it cause they believe in medical care being available to everyone.

Thanks you guys. I know I should see a doctor. I'm a poor actor without insurance, so I've got to figure something out. Like vote for a president that will help us move toward Universal Health Care. Or I could move to Canada like Lainey and Danielle!
I'll figure something out.

Shakes,
It might be a good idea to run that episode by a doctor anyways. Some allergic reactions can turn deadly, if it affects your bronchial tubes. That your face swelled up and you had some difficulty breathing suggests that whatever you were reacting to might be in that category. It might be good to have an epi pen on hand should it happen again in a more extreme form.
My sister-in-law is extremely allergic to fish, and one time when she was visiting we had chinese food that must have had some fish sauce in it. Within 20 minutes of eating it, she was barely breathing, I'm talking skeletor. My nephew also had a similar episode as a baby when he sucked on an apple that had been cut with the same knife that had been used to cut cheese. Scary! Not something to mess around with. That's how I know about the epi pen. As for allergies in general, I was once told that the sensitivity to certain things runs in seven year cycles. Don't know if that is true, but it might be a possible explanation. Or maybe you just ate something bad. Glad you are alright now. :)

Shakes,
It's possible you may be more sensitive but do keep in mind allergies can pop up at any time. We recommend you consult your doctor.

Hey Shakes! I have no doubt that smoking has masked a whole lot of diseases / illnesses that we didn't realize, because it has the ability to do just that!
However, the next time you get those symptoms though, get your butt to the Doc and have it checked out. :)
