Inability to Concentrate

Machiavelli I still get all spacey and lose my train of thought. I've also noticed that alot of it has to do with so many things added to my plate that wasn't there before, almost as if my brain is on overdrive and can't remember poo..I write a list these days or I forget everything. I keep it in my pocket, refridgerator door anywhere that I know I'll come across it. I've even noticed signs of dyslexia at work reversing numbers which is not good since I deal with 6 digit figures in material. It'll either make someone really happy or I'm in big trouble. I hope this helps knowing your not alone. This one really hit me too. I did found that my brain returned...eventually....but it took about 18 months. Hopefully, you are at least seeing some improvement since you first quit? Concentration comes back later in the quit. At first quitting is like an obsession. I was here every single day for a couple of years and it took a while to learn to deal with being smoke free. There are many emotional aspects to this process. You get through each one the best you can. You will come to find that life is so much better without the smokes. Everything you go through is so worth being free from the enslavement of smoking. Hang in there. I agree Tresa - I have learned through my own experience that Nicotine can mess with many many systems in your body. your horemones, and your brain, and your digestive system, and the list goes on. This, too, shall pass. Hello everyone, ya know i think this is a problem with the quit, i can remember in the beginning i couldent concentrate on any thing , felt like i was loosing my mind, i would loose focus on one thing i was doing and move to another, i believe its just yet another way of the addiction messing with our head, i can remember doing alot of crazy stuff like sitting at a STOP SIGN waiting for the light to change, sitting and spinning my tires in the garage because my truck was up against a pole in front of the water heater because i never put the thing in reverse, oh this one is gratful to have gotten through the beginning. Hang in there iam almost normal again :) just dont give in . Hang tough Tresa :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1962 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39,240 Amount Saved: $6,867.00 Life Gained: Days: 276 Hrs: 15 Mins: 28 Seconds: 50

Hey Machiavelli could be a lot of things going on here. Some people have a problem concentrating after they quit smoking but it does'nt last very long.I also move a lot part of it is increased energy as a result of quitting smoking and I am by nature a very antsy person and can't stay still for very long so I walk or pace a great deal it's annoying some time but I can live with it.The other side of the coin is that smoking has the ability to mask a lot of things you might want to talk to your Doctor about it if it persists over time.Hope that helps I'm sure other's will be along shortly with further advice theres not to many early risers around here. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 277 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,986 Amount Saved: $2,770.00 Life Gained: Days: 63 Hrs: 5 Mins: 57 Seconds: 50
