HELP - bad day....

Jacqui, It's hard to say but I know I used smoking to bury a lot of emotional things. I thought I became hyper-sensitive when I quit but I was actually just feeling things for the first time. Maybe that did stir some things up. I resented my smoking friends for a bit until I realized that they didn't have something that I wanted. I could choose to smoke any time. I just chose not to. I'm glad you aren't smoking though :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1228 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,560 Amount Saved: $5,526.00 Life Gained: Days: 93 Hrs: 17 Mins: 19 Seconds: 58

Jacqui, You are totally on the road to recovery but it is just a loooong road and it has a lot of turns and bumps and stop signs :) It takes some time which is frustrating but every hurdle you get over is a big accomplishment. You know...looking at your meter, you would have smoked a whole pack of 20 between your last two posts. Be kind to yourself you are doing an amazing thing but it takes a while. Probably a full year before you face all the normal triggers in their season. Do you remember a year ago? How quickly did that go? You can do it. If anything, get mad at the hold that nicotine had over you and celebrate that you are taking steps to break that hold. And maybe a bath. And maybe a glass of wine with the bath. And some candles? You are doing it. There will be a day when you turn a corner and you are passed all of this, it's just up the road a bit further. jacqui You ARE over the worst. Just one bad day. You can do this. Have you figured out what might be causing the craving? There are usually some reasons....milestones, stresses, times you used to smoke. Please do something nice for yourself, then go to bed. You will get through this. It will not last forever. But the addiction will last as long as you feed it. So, please...do not feed it.
