So Tired!

Corrina, I hear you, but I sleep for a different reason. It's the only way to escape the constant physical and emotional trauma that I'm going through right now. I've been unable to go out unless it's to walk my dog or go shopping. I used to be an avid bodybuilder, but I've had such enormous attacks in the gym that I'm afraid to go back. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I wish I had answers. Sorry. :(

Hi Corrina, I am exactly the same. I could go to sleep at 10, sleep till noon and go back for a couple of hours nap in the afternoon. Claire Weekes exlains this well in her book and it has to do with the mental, spiritual, physical and emotional fatigue. Another reason I slept alot was because it was a form of avoidance. Some people take drugs, alcohol etc but I slept! I am still dealing with my tiredness and fatigue but the best advice I can give is; Stay off the bed during the day, keep sleeping patterns regular and keep occupied during the day. Boredom is another thing that can make you want to just go and sleep. Exercise is also good but it can be hard if after five minutes your muscles grow tired and you feel lethargic. Baby steps is all it takes to start out though!! I'm up to doing about 40mins exersise every two days now and it is very beneficial. Hope this helps!!

Corrina I fully understand what you are going through. Last night I slept for about 3hrs. (The most consecutive sleep I've gotten for days). I try some mind numbing things (television, music) or sometimes reading just to make my eyes tired enough so that they can't stay open. I also sympathize with the constant nausea and tension. Since I have decided to try to battle through this "med free," my naturopath reccomended Valarian root for the sleeplessness and Vitamin B complex for the tension. Another reccomendation was apple cider vinegar for digestion and nausea. I haven't tried these yet but I plan to go to the health food store today. I will let you know if there is any improvement. Take Care.

Hi Corrina, I used to be really tired, I didnt event want to go out, all I wanted to do was sleep. I started taking meds (paxil) 3 weeks ago and it has given me my energy back. Not to the extent I used to have it but I am not wanting to sleep all day anymore. The pill makes me tired so I take it at night after dinner and it makes me drowsy for about an hour or two, but if I push past the drowsiness I can have a good night out now and then. I know what you mean about feeling lazy I was so disapointed in myself and felt like I was never going to be the same again. I found that eating better definitly helped as well. :)

Corrina, It is an old cliche, but what about exercise! Even a minimal amount will increase your metabolism. Try a little bit of pilates, or brisk walking everyday. This will give you added energy, and you will sleep sounder at night. Hope this helps, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

I don't know about you, but I can sleep ALL THE TIME! The tension and nausea of my anxiety just drains me. I can't remember the last time I had a decent amount of energy... I feel so lazy. This makes me feel guilty for letting housework slide. Wondering if anyone else is experiences this, and if you have any tips for extra energy.. I could definately use some :quest:
