Feeling dismal

Pretty soon your battle will leave the physical addiction mode and transfer to the mental triggers. Big difference... Your in the middle of becoming someone else. A new you. Except....your not made yet so the old you is familiar territory. We all are gravitated to our comfort zone (the old us). I think some of us don't put enough effort into developing the new person we invisioned to be when we quit. We need to fill up with good stuff and throw out the junk/smoking habits. Hope this helps Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 290 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,800 Amount Saved: $1,296.30 Life Gained: Days: 38 Hrs: 1 Mins: 56 Seconds: 54

Wuzz, Everyone has said it, but I wanted to say good for you!!! Those craves really are the worst and you feel like it's never going to end, but they do end. You are not the only one to search for a stale stray butt in the corner's of your yard...that's why I had to remove all smoking items when I quit. One more thing Wazz, I think we all feel like we are going insane when we quit. At some point (don't ask when ;) ), most of us return to some form of normal. Don't let it get the best of you. Take this time to let those that really drive you insane know exactly how you feel about them. Then blame it on quitting smoking! :eg: Quitting can be to your advantage in more ways than one! Hang on tight. You are doing great and Hell week is almost over. Wazz, There have been many around here that have dug through the trash for any portion of a butt to smoke. You survived. Build on the days you have behind you. They are the building blocks of your quit. Each day your quit grows and you don't want to knock it down. It takes too long to get to where you are. Congratulations on making it through a tough time! three of the hardest days are behind you. good for you. It's not any worse than this, in fact each day without nicotine makes you stronger. Before you know it you are not a smoker. Its not easy but it is worth the fight to beat the addiction. There is Power in Quitting. Wazz, Sounds like being with your friend is a big trigger for you. Not surprising if the two of you used to smoke together all the time. So, next time you plan on seeing him prepare yourself. It can be as simple as just being aware of the association you have with smoking and him, or like others have said, have a bottle of water handy, some mints, something else to do with your hands and/or mouth. You could also let him know and ask him to not, under any circumstances, give you a cigarette. Now you're seeing what this quitting business is all about. Good for you! Wazz, I am proud for you that didn't give in. It will get better. I dont know when the cravings will go away completely (I am not there yet), but everytime you can beat it, the next one is even easier to overcome. You are learning coping skills and you are doing good. rnd My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 270 Amount Saved: $50.63 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 13 Mins: 21 Seconds: 3

Wazz, Good for you! Keep fighting! Other things that help are a big glass of water, or go for a brisk walk.(The walk does wonders actually) The one thing I cannot express enough is to hang in there! You will be sooooo glad that you kept on going and soon! It does get so much better and better and better! You will never regret the decision to quit! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 245 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,125 Amount Saved: $2,584.75 Life Gained: Days: 29 Hrs: 23 Mins: 18 Seconds: 47
