Massage sounds like a great idea to ease the tension up on the muscles and encourage relaxation.
When I first started having the panic attacks I too had a huge weight loss. I was so nauseated I didn't really eat for a couple of days at a time. Then I found out my blood sugar was quite low in the mornings and I started forcing myself to make sure I ate something or drank something to help out with that issue.
We get into such a cycle with this stuff and it seems to effect so many aspects of our lives.
I wish I had gotten help years ago. I think I may have been able to avoid the problems I have developed over the years.
at my old job i used to drive alot. not as much as you, about 1/3'rd of that or more.
but i get anxious for long periods of time, I think I will see about getting a massage today or tomorrow.
I am not currently on any medication for my anxiety.
I go for long walks and that helps alot
You sound alot like me. I have to fight to keep weight on and am always on the verge of an attack. I am very tense right now, I scheduled a massage for today.....it really helps! I drive 3000 miles a month for my job so thats alot of the reason for tenseness in the neck but it un-nerves me. I just want to be "normal" again. I used to have anxiety for about 2 weeks , then it would go away..but lately.it just stays. Take Care!
I am fairly certain i have been losing weight.
I lose my appetite for lengthy periods, though i generally force myself to eat because I dont weigh much as it is. In fact, ive been trying to gain weight but the anxiety isn't helping. I will have some days where I will feel anxious and experiance panicky symptoms for hours without it peaking into an attack. If I have an attack at night I will feel weak, tired and shaky the next day... But ive been getting better since the first. I was having trouble falling asleep lately too... not sure why... I think the muscle tension ive been having (which has been pretty intense) has been causing involuntary muscle jerks when i am about to fall asleep... I will wake up right away, almost like a shock... it is very unnerving and i have to calm myself down and turn over onto my stomach and breath and then i can usually fall asleep
Hi all,
I suffer from muscle stiffness caused by anxiety and a simple massage for $20.00-$25.00 to the upper body does wonders for me! Sometimes it will bring a lengthy attack to an end completely! None the less, it is very healthy and relaxing if you can afford it. If not, have a family member massage your back BUT its not as effective as a professional massage. Hot baths and showers help too. Does anyone else lose weight real fast when having a anxiety episode? I get so nauseated for days. I am down to a size 5...yikes!
