Oh my, that was a lovely welcome into the site today! :) - thanks everyone, you're making a grown girl cry! 300 days. On January 1st, I looked at people with 300 days under their belt with gut-wrenching awe, with respect bordering on reverence, and thought [i]One day it could be me...I really think it could...I can DO this...[/i]. And now it is me, and I'll be dipped in wang dang diddly do - I still can't believe it! WOOHOO! But it was only in taking it one day at a time, one thought at a time, one new undiscovered emotion, smell, taste, at a time that I got here. It was only with the SO appreciated support from friends all around, but none more than nonic, you've been a godsend for many but for me more than perhaps I've let on. You'll be with my freed spirit until my last day on this earth and for that I thank you. I don't come around much but for milestones, leave the careful attention to those better prepared to give. My only sound advice is in my history. All I'm really qualified to speak about is how I got through, and it ain't a bad story if I do say so myself :) Seriously, if learning about how one person has slayed her own dragon helps only one other person, I've made my peace in this life. I still battle my emotions with harsh words flying on occasion, tears spilling when the anger isn't a strong enough reaction. But dealing with so much WITHOUT that crutch makes me remember why I quit. Because I CAN deal with it now. Oh, and my reward? Day 301 was my 36th birthday. The first smoke free birthday in 21 years. Great gift, eh?!
