Hey newquitter,
I am right there with you. My quit date is tomorrow, so we could use each other as a crutch if you want. I have been very sleepy myself lately since i have started to cut down before my quit date. It sucks because I can't sleep whenever I want. I have a full time job, and I am a full time college student. One good thing is that I was able to go out to the smoke pit at work and just sit there and not smoke. I was craving, but I just kept telling myself, its not worth it. Good Luck!
Hi newquitter! :)
Just wanted to say welcome and to tell you we're here everytime you need us! We're all in the same roadtrip and understand your feelings and fights! In my trip I've descovered that posting and posting was one of the best helps in my quit journey! :)
So that's one of the best advices I have to give you!
About the cravings and everything do think of it as a detoxifying process while you're getting healthier and working for your own body and wellbeing! So accept those bad things, don't fight them and smile to them as each one of them will be a victory on you way! It just means you've been without smoking wich is your goal and wish! :)
good luck with everything and let us now how you're doing! :)
Kisses from Portugal,
Cat

Your brain (along with the rest of your body) is receiving much more oxygen than it is use to. Just like when you have a flu and sleep to recover....so it is with the body recovering from smoking.
It will be all about you and your body for awhile. Treasure each moment of healing.

Definately educate yourself with smoking and what it does to your body, as well as the process it goes through when you quit.
You will have NO REGRETS - I promise!

hi newquitter,
getting tired and needing to sleep is very common, especially in the first few weeks of your quit. your body is starting a process to heal from all those poisons you have been putting in there. so get as much rest as you can and take it one day at a time. you are almost through the toughest day. YAY you!!

Hi Newquitter! That is a very common complaint, sleepyness or fogginess or both, is exactly what happens to most people the first two weeks or so. We have all been through it. So sleep if you can! You have just withdrawn how many chemicals? from your body through quitting smoking and your body wants to sleep and recouperate! Sleep as much as you can get away with, it helps. :)

So, are you still smoking or have you already quit? When you do quit, your body will require some extra rest as it heals itself from the abuse you have put it through.
Let me give you some advice. You are 23 years old. Please stop smoking now. Get a hold of this addiction before it is too late.
Good luck to ya!
