Get how ever much rest you need. When I went through that I would pick one task to get done for the day, then rested or came to this site guilt-free as much as I wanted. The gym with your friend sounds great, too.

Hi Jodie, 10 days is great. I am of the beleif that anything you want to do or not do is okay in the early stages of your quit. You are taking care of yourself first. That is what quitting is all about.
Take care of yourself and every thing will fall into place in time.Get all the rest you need for your body to heal. There will be plenty of time to do house work and you will have more energy as a non-smoker. :)

Hey. thanks you guys! You are right. Quitting is much more important than worrying about eating and being lazy for now. I'm going to enjoy eating and getting extra sleep. I do think I'm taking naps so to avoid thinking about smoking. Next week I will start going to the gym with my best friend and soon ski season will start. I plan to kick butt on the mountain this winter!

i can sure relate. i thought it was just me who was on Chantix and could sleep and sleep. for me, its a coping mechanism...having idle time is a big trigger so i nap to not have cravings. i find i can't get myself motivated either when i am at home. i'm sure 'this too shall pass' in the meantime i'm enjoying getting all the sleep i can!

Jodi - Sounds about right to me. I didn't take Chantix but I felt the same way. Tired, tired, tired. Lazy, lazy, lazy. It goes away gradually. It's all part of the process. I figure if you're sleeping it's because your body is telling you it needs sleep. If you are lazy, it's your body telling you it needs a break. Do what you can and let the rest go. I doubt anything too seriously bad will happen if the house gets a bit messy, eh? :)

Hi there.
I've read that a lot of people on Chantix are having trouble sleeping. I am having the opposite problem. It seems like all I want to do is eat, be on the computer, read and sleep. I nap during the day and sleep all night. I get the kids off to school and to their after school activities OK. I'm making the best dinners ever (yum), but I am not motivated at all to clean the house, do book work, or take care of other things that I should. Is this just me being really lazy?
