Nina,
Hope your meds are helping you. Haven't been on this site for a little while, but I had a rough day and wanted to check in. Saw your post and wanted to respond. I am now in my third week of Lexapro, and as I sated in my success story, the first week was really hard. Week two went without any issue and I actually stopped taking Zanax. Had some chest pains again yesterday and some more painful ones today. Must admit, I started to panic again. Relaxing more now as I know its anxiety. Additionally, I have been doing a tremendous amount of lifting things around the last week and I am sore everywhere. I shouldn't be surprised if my chest wall pain acts up like it did today. Thing of it is, without the Lexapro, I wouldn't of have the symptom free second week or recover from the panic today as quickly as I did. In my opinion, meds are a great first step to beating anxiety. Stick with it and give them time to work for you, and don't be afraid to discuss any perceived side effects with your Dr. If a change needs to be made, they will know and take care of it. Best wishes! Let me know how you are doing.
