Glofish,
Today was the end of my fourth week on Lexapro. First week was a nightmare, second and most of the third were really good until I had a setback. Week four ended great and I feel much better than I did a month ago. Don't think anything can get us to the 100% on it's own. But the Lexapro and some self-help has gotten me to a better place than I have been for quite some time. I think part of the problem is when you feel bad for so long you really don't remember what 100% truly feels like and it becomes more of a unreachable perception instead of an actual achievement. I look at now as I feel 100% better. Best wishes!
Glofish,
My Dr. suggested a multi-vitamin that includes all the B's and Omega 3 fish oil capsules (which he said is very good for the nervous system). Always discuss vitamins and supplements with your physician.
Unfortunately there's no magic vitamin but making sure that we take the things that are good for our bodies only helps reinforce our healing.
Exercise is also very important. I have actually discovered that exercise helps to calm my panic when it hits. My body certainly doesn't feel like exercising and sometimes I'm sure my legs will collapse beneath me---but I do it anyway knowing I'll be Ok AND it helps.
Take Care ;)
hi,
i know that B vitamins complex is good for your nervous system. But you should ask your doctor before you take anything. My doctor suggested multi-vitamins complex for me and said that SSRIs are good with vitamins. :)
Brenda im new to panic as well are there certin types of vitamins that help with panic? i currently take paxil cr and zanax as needed any advise would be helpful
Glofish,
It takes time. When my panic hit the first time in 1999--I was in about the same state you describe and it took about 2-3 months before I really felt back to myself again. But I did get better and felt wonderful. Eventually I was even able to stop meds and was panic free for 4 years. The panic is back and I'm back on Zoloft but it has taken only 3 weeks for me to feel better this time around.
Your nervous system needs time to heal. Hang in there. You're doing the right things now nurture your body by sitting in the sunshine a little each day, take your vitamins, get enough sleep, drink lots of water, and take time to relax. Keep us informed. :)
Hi, everybody
I am on 20 mg of Lexapro daily and thought I feel much better physically (I was almost all the time in bed before)I still have agoraphobia and panic attacks (not as often thought). I take xanax when I go out and before I go to bed and when I feel panic is coming on. Could you share your experiences with Lexapro? I was hoping that Lexapro would take agoraphobia and panic attacks away, but still don't feel 100%.
Thanks,
Glofish
