Hi Nico,
I quit smoking after the first week of Chantix too, and it helped tremendously to launch me... I also took the questions and work book type activities offered with my Chantix prescription seriously until I found the SSC and all of you "real" people here:) I worked these programs too. Helps tons to get oriented and centered in your quit...
About 2 hrs. ago a friend of our daughter's just learned how to ride a bike! We cheered and watched her practice over and over until finally, her feet moved perfectly and a huge smile happened across her face:)
That's how I feel about my quit. Starting it was the hardest part. Keeping it seems easier each day I practice. My tools are basically the same, but using the knowledge base right here and the great body of real-time experience has been the greatest manual on how to do it effectively for me. I choose to be here when I can:)
I am extra sensitive to Chantix, so I cut my dose in half for 2 weeks then stopped taking it. I experienced high anxiety about a week after that, so slowly started taking it again in small doses. I self regulate now, and sometimes go 3 or 4 days without it and feel just fine. It's just one of the little tools I can pull out right now if I feel I really need it.
Come here often so we can cheer you on:)

PS aloha, of course you're welcome to come to the Free State with me anytime:)
