Oh,m I sure find that a smoke lessens all the BS coming at me. In fact, they should call them BS reducers! NOT! 2tone, you know better than that. Smnoking will not change anything for the better & will change many things (your health, your self-respect, your bank account...) for the worse.
You do have the coping strategies you need, you need to do everything you would do if you were smoking, except the smoking. That is, take some time to calm down & let your mind rest a bit, use a distraction for that. Maybe a book, movie, crossword puzzle, long walk. Breathe deeply & consider your options. If there are none & this is a situation you really can't change, then smoking won't change it either. Accept it & try to fit into your reality as best you can, a little at a time if that's what it takes.
If that doesn't work, then do whatever makes you feel better. Cry, scream, swear, break something. Smoking won't really amke you feel better. Imagine how disgusting it would be after this long. Bleeecchhh!!!!
You don't smoke, 2tone, non-smokers don't smoke. You are strong enough & you can do it. You've been doing it for 272 days.
Take my hand & hold on. Make a fist & shake it at all the unfairness in the world. Now you can't light up.
