During my preparations for this quit I learned that the willpower method is probably the hardest way to quit. It involves depriving yourself, through willpower, of something you dearly want and are desperately addicted to. [b]You are depriving yourself of nothing![/b] You are saving yourself from an early death and a disgusting drug addiction. If you allow yourself to think that you are being deprived of something it just becomes more precious. The longer you are without it the more precious it becomes. That one cigarette becomes the most important thing in the world. Turn that around and use it to your advantage. Cigarettes are depriving you of a better life, they are giving you NOTHING. If someone were giving you a dose of poison you would fight for your life, the Junkie is trying to pour the poison down your throat and you are wanting him to do it! Does it taste so good that you are willing to die for it? Does it make everything all better? Does it make you more powerful and a better person? NO NO and NOOOOO. Don't dwell on what you cannot have but on what you are going to get! Fresh breath, white teeth, freedom from addiction. Your going to smell better, look better, feel better. Don't envy smokers what they have, they have nothing and they know it. They envy you! They wish they could go three days without a smoke but are terrified to even try it. You found the courage to come this far, take my hand, little one, and let me lead you to freedom. I barely remember being free myself but I know just where it lies.
