Cindy, I had issues sleeping, headaches, very very low tolerance - snappy, crabby, etc.....I thought I was coping well until I was sent home from work to rest.
I slept, read, and felt better. I was concerned enough to go to the DR, who merely handed me an anti-depressant and 2 types of sleeping pills. I ran the stats on those and saw the side affects and addictive properties and called my DR back and said I am not taking these, I just got off chantix and I think all this is because I didn't wean.
I googled and found entire websites of people in pain that did not wean, same symptoms as me. I called my DR and told her this, she concurred, for me, it was not wise to add more meds to the mix.
I am fine now, my issues lasted 2-3 weeks. I worked with my DR the whole time and that is the best advise, every one is different. My DH was pretty much fine, and I hope you will be also.
But if I had to do it over I would wean.
Sue
