Great post, Nonic. If you find you're overrun with sunny days can you send some over to old blighty? We've had a helluva rainy summer so far ;) x T My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 199 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,577 Amount Saved: 1,094.50 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 14 Mins: 24 Seconds: 52

Good post nonic. Exactly the wavelength I'm on with this right now. My middle name is react. Have a lot of work to do on this. But yes, I will stop my smoking reaction. Sunny days are good. My son and I collect rainbows. Hello my fellow travelers How much of life is stone cold fact and how much of it is our perception about those facts. To an addict, this is not an obscure philosophical discussion; it can be the basis of success or failure as we seek to end our reliance on nicotine and move toward higher levels of liberation. There is no question that in this world bad things happen to good people. And as addicts when bad things happened to us in the past we have responded by smoking a cigarette and in some cases ingesting even more damaging substances. Now as we move forward in our quits, we will come to understand that that response is not the only one available. And that brings me back to my original point. The subtle shift that occurs in a recovering addict has to do with the realization that it is not what happens to us in this world, it is more about how we perceive and react to the inevitably awkward situations which we all encounter. And so we have a choice everyday, to be a victim of difficult life events, or to recognize that we are self creating beings who have free will and the ultimate ability to alter our perceptions of external events. So what shall we do today with this thing called free will? Shall we meet the ugly in life by polluting our bodies with cigarettes or shall we seek a different path. I think today I will choose the latter and at least for this moment in time be a collector of sunny days... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 206 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,180 Amount Saved: $1,442.00 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 14 Mins: 9 Seconds: 19
