Hope you are feeling better today. The hardest part is over, the decision to quit! Keep going now - If your desire to quit is stronger than your desire to smoke - you can do this! Good luck and stay stronger than your cravings! I just want to say thank you so much for the overwhelming support that you guys give. It absolutely made my day to write that post, take my son to the park, and come home to find such awesome cheerleaders supporting me. Wow. Thanks you!!! Bresmama, Congrats on your first day! Yes, it is quite common to be tired after you quit. Nicotine is a stimulant and sped up your metabolism. Now that you've quit, your metabolism has slowed and you may feel tired. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Congratulations Bresmama! You're doing great! The first three days are the hardest, so just hang here with us whenever you can. I know exactly what you're talking about with the Chantix. You don't get the same satisfaction the last couple of days before you stop smoking. The tiredness is absolutely normal, so don't worry. Take very good care of yourself and get plenty of rest. Let us know if we can help in any way. WOOHOO! You're doing great on your first day, bresmama. Yes, it does get easier. Everyone is different, but the concensus arond here seems to be that the first 3 days are the hardest as the nicotine is leaving your body & the junkie starts to realize there ain't no more coming right away. Hang in, one day at a time. OMG, the tiredness. Yes, many of us have had that, too. I was sleepy, lazy & "off" feeling for the first week & then gradually better over the next 2 weeks or so. Listen to your body, it's telling you what you need. DO NOT listen to the junkie. In other words, bresmama, if you're tired, sleep. Don't wait until the junkie steps in to tell you that you wouldn't be so tired if you just had a smoke. What you're feeling is normal, be kind to yourself & give yourself a reward for getting through day 1. YAY, bresmama!!! Ok..so its been the first day. WOW ...its been hard. I really hope that it gets easier. The one thing that I can say is that yesterday may have been more frustrating even though I was smoking. The Chantix was driving me nuts because I felt like I wanted to smoke, but when I did it felt like I hadn't smoked and didn't satisfy any craving. At least today I wasn't frustrated because I expected to have the cravings and all of the other assorted nastiness that comes with quitting. A part of me is starting to feel really angry. Angry at the cigarettes, look what they are doing. My god, you don't realize the effects that they have on your life until you quit. In 5 hours it will be 24 hours since my last cigarette. Is it normal to feel really tired? I feel exhausted today (totally unlike me)...did anyone else feel like that?
