Extreme heat, humidity = cravings ?

for 17 år siden 0 241 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Oh good ! It's not just me.. You too Phillip suffered with cravings because of the high humidex ! Wow ! Good thing you are away where the air is dry.. must make a huge difference. Well Bear had a very good idea to cool my system down by using damp wash cloths on my wrists and it's helped immensely :) I'm glad now that the humidity left yesterday and it makes it much more comfortable. xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $43.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 17 Mins: 0 Seconds: 40

Thanks for this. Last summer I had cravings all the time. They were worse the higher the humidex. I am spending most of my summer in the hills of northern California and the air is dry and mostly clean and I don't experience those cravings at all. When I get back to TO this summer and the air is heavy my lungs just feel like bursting. I can't say I crave in the same way as last summer. Keep moving and just don't smoke. Thanks Phillip :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 509 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,725 Amount Saved: $4,326.50 Life Gained: Days: 83 Hrs: 2 Mins: 0 Seconds: 11

Mamakitty, Sorry to hear it's raining but Paris is full of great indoor museums and spots to visit. We are glad to hear you are continuing to challenge those cravings! Keep it up! We are cheering you on! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hey Sam, I think you're doing great! Rain or shine:) You're awesome... We came to Paris with shorts, and it's raining, so we're pulling out the layers. I cried tonight feeling sorry for myself... Maybe I can at least help you. My 10 yr old put her ear plugs (from the plane) up her nose. Hmmm. Guess it's time for bed:) I wanted to smoke on our really cool rooftop apt. many times... but I'm not. Looking at my child, smiling at me... Hearing my hubby snore nearby... I' going to bed, again. I hope you sleep peaceful too. Love, a fellow cigarette lover... (though a seriously unworthy poop) mk PS Climbing many stairs and walking many places helps replace the exhausting effects of the evening puffs dramatically:) ok baby kitty - I'm going to sleep!:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 435 Amount Saved: $116.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 1 Mins: 28 Seconds: 54

Bear and Unhooked, you're both right ! And Bear thanks a lot for that suggestion about the damp face cloths for my wrists ! Great idea :) This damn nicodemon rears it's head in the strangest of circumstances! Ok.. going to do that with the face cloths now ;) xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 80 Amount Saved: $29.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 12 Mins: 41 Seconds: 30

Yep Same old story just the brain looking for relief from an unconfortable situation .Light a smoke release a little dopamine and everythings all right again.Unfortunatly it does'nt last very long and we have to do it again and again and again. ;)If this is a trigger for you Sam try wrapping your wristes with a damp face cloth ??? Well, you know, we have a dry heat here... :p It might be the same kind of thing as craving when you're sick even thought you know it will make you feel worse, physically. we're just used to smoking to feel better so our junkie thinks it will work no matter what the reason for feeling yucky might be. That's just a guess & it might not even make sense. It doesn't really matter why though, does it? Smoking won't change the weather & it won't make you any less comfortable in it. It will make it worse because it will stink as well as being hot & humid & you will feel sick and dizzy. Hang in, Sam.
