Tryagain, At least you didn't smoke!!!!! Congratulations! Always remember H.A.L.T. Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. It sounds like you have all of these working against you. Manslow's theory says we must take care of our hiarchy of needs. You basic needs must be met before you can move forward. The diet isn't important right now. You can work on that later. Don't go overboard but don't obsess about it either. When things are too much, stop and take some deep breaths and collect your thoughts. The most important thing is that you do not smoke no matter what! The nic gum is much better than going out and getting cigarettes. Get as much rest as you can, be sure to eat right, drink a lot of water, take a lot of dep breaths, and by all means, take a break! Do something fun. I see you are at 148 days. Do something special and extrodinary to celebrate that 150 day mark! It's reward time!!!!! Congratulations. I am very proud of you for not smoking. You are doing great! tryagain You are doing very very well...There is no need for self recrimination here...Most people would have caved in your situation...You should be praising yourself for getting through a very difficult situation and the 2mg gum ain't no big thing...your not smoking and thats the bottom line... stay well nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 185 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,550 Amount Saved: $1,295.00 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 18 Mins: 32 Seconds: 30

You really did good TryAgain! You could have broken down and smoked, but you stayed strong and just went for the gum. This may be a turning point for you. Once your hand is better and you have a chance to just relax a while, you will realize that slowly but surely you are winning this fight. Please make sure you reward yourself - whether it's taking an afternoon off, renting a movie to watch, going out for ices/frozen yogurt, etc... You so deserve it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 89 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,068 Amount Saved: $363.12 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 5 Mins: 40 Seconds: 54

try, Why are you being so hard on yourself? It is great that you vented and wrote this down and this is a key to your emotions. Check with your doctor and yes use the NRT again if needed and advised. You are doing this one step at a time, you work hard and it will fall into place. Give yourself a break, or just try those relaxation techniques before bed every night to de-stress your body :) YOU DIDN'T SMOKE!! This is what you should be celebrating! KUDOS!!! Tryagain, You did exactly what you should have. Congratulations for staying smoke free! So you needed a little kick again. No harm done. You will know when you are ready. Great work keeping yourself smoke free. My doc once told me he would rather see me on patches for the rest of my life than smoking. There are just so many other dangerous chemicals in the smokes. Way to go! tryagain, I know what you are talking about I used the patches to quit and was going fine until I went off them which has been about three weks ago twice I have put another patch on, hate it as I also want to be nic free, sooooo bad but there again to me what ever it takes to just NOT SMOKE! working so hard on this and one day it will come where I will be fine as I will not give up. I have a teacher friend who quit three years ago and she still does the gum at very stressful times, may not be the best but at least she is not smoking.I really don't know how bad it is to have nic in your body through patches or gum, but I do know it has to be better then smoking and getting it. Just keep it up trying and we will make it!!!!!!!! hugs and prayers, Bobbi My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/27/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 89 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,670 Amount Saved: $222.50 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 2 Mins: 18 Seconds: 29

I stepped down to the 2mg some time ago, which is about where I stopped getting all those wonderful benefits like days of pure joy. Now I cut them in half. I can't imagine I'm getting much out of a half a 2 mg! It's evidently enough to stop me from wigging out. Hi tryagain, I think the gum is a whole lot better than smoking, right? In past quits, I have hard a very hard time giving up nrt also. Did you buy the 2mg gum? Maybe you should monitor how many pieces you are having everyday. Don't just pop one whenever you feel like it. You did not smoke. You should be proud. You won't feel like this forever. What you have been through tells me how committed you are to this quit. I know it is for health reasons and one day you are going to be so thankful (for many reasons) that you quit smoking. Hope your day gets better. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 696 Amount Saved: $145.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 1 Mins: 25 Seconds: 1
