Have you tried self talk, Lily? Perhaps you need to shut up the voice inside that keeps bringing up that subject! I used to tell myself, whenever a smoking thought came up "Smoking is not an option, so I have to do something else" or "NOPE, the door is closed on smoking!"
and then do something else.
You need to retrain your brain to think of other things. There are a couple of threads on self talk as well, just enter self talk in the search engine! I know some people may think it is silly but it works!
The junky thoughts will keep coming unless you stop it!
With the weight, we are in the same boat, quit first worry about the weight later!
I would check with my doc if you can't excercise. What about walking, it doesn't raise the heartrate as much? :)
