I'm sorry to hear that, but I guess Canada does have a lot of great medical facilities. Anyway, what I want to say is, this site at the Panic Center can be your support group for now. It has been of great encouragement to me!
Thanks Redface & Casey,
I have asked my family dr & he referred me to my therapist. She then told he to call a mental health hospital (I tried both of the 2 major ones in my area)to see if they have any type of support group or program & I had no luck. In fact, one of the hospitals said they don't do anything on an outpatient basis which I was surprised to hear.
I have even tried talking to people who attend AA meetings & other types of support groups & have found 2 but they said due to poor attendance they have stopped holding the meetings.
Anyway I'll keep looking..thanks again!
Hi cdg,
I, like redface, can only suggest that you try to find one through a health care facility. Here in Canada, most family doctors have access to this type of information. That may be a good place for you to start your search. I have had expereince with these types of groups and some people really benefit from them.
I wish I had more specific information for services in your area.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Casey

The Panic Center Support Team
I have not been to one personally, but I met someone who had; in Toronto Canada. It was at a major mental health facility, so if you look the major mental health facitilies up in your yellow pages, you may find one that has such a group! ;)
I was just wondering if anyone has been to an actual support group for panic & anxiety. I love this group & I know that it is wonderful but I would like to find people in my area that I could meet & talk to.
I am in the Dallas Tx. area but as big as this city is I can not find anything for panic. I have searched for support groups & specialists that deal with this problem & I have had no luck.
If anyone has ever been to a support group, please let me know how you found it & if you liked it.
Thanks
