when you have a craving, what do you think about?? do you let yourself dwell on what you think you are "missing".....in your mind, do you romanticize your smoking past?? Do you "entertain" the junky thoughts??? If you do, you are letting that junky play in your head....and when you allow that, he tries to take over....the thinking is his way of sliding in and trying to take control. fight back. Realize that by not smoking YOU stay in control.....do you want that addiction to rule your life??? of course not!! Tell yourself so! Give the thoughts the boot! Kick them!! slam the door on them!!! Empower yourself with thoughts of being in CONTROL! Then take yourself and get some kind of a treat! A reward for NOT letting the junky take over your head! Face him and BEAT him! He won't let you be till he sees that you have sealed all the cracks and he can NOT get in.
