PhidlDD,
I just wanted to clarify the post I sent you. The dry run can be done in stages as mentioned before. However, keep the relaxation techniques for when you are at home and feeling the panic. You do need to be alert and aware when driving or just being in the car.
I read over my post and it was not clear, thus I am clarifying for you.
Sorry,
Josie

PhidlDD,
Perhaps you could try relaxation and breathing techniques. Before you get into the car try a warm bath, or listening to soft music. Whatever relaxes you, is worth a try. Also you can pull a dry run. This indicates that when you get into the car, you will not go anywhere yet. Turn on the car, then turn it off. Next step is reversing out of the driveway and then back again. With each step you will make yourself go a little further.
Do these exercises at your own pace and what make you comfortable.
Hope this helps,
Josie

videotaping these situations while someone else is
driving so I can practice dealing with them at home. I
only have full blown panic attacks though when I'm
driving alone. When others are in the car I feel
forced to deal with the situation. Does anyone else
have any tips on how they dealt with thi
