I was on prozac for a few years and when I went off it cold turkey. Lets just say I wont do that again. It took a few weeks of pain and fighting when I stop taking it but was all good after that. I just didn't like the side effects being active in sports, just didn't feel like myself when I was on it.
Hey Mud That's a tough one to answer because we all know that meds affect each person differently. I hated my med at first because it made me feel so nauseas at the beginning but I stuck with it and it eventually went away.(I'm on Celexa)It also takes along time to get into your system. Take care and I hope you find something that works for you.
hi all
does anybody have any experience with prozac. I'm new to all this medication stuff so can only go on what people tell me. I know i've heard some horror stories about prozac, and also how it is very difficult to come off it too. Reason i'm asking is, I told the emergency nurse that i was given prozac but had come off it after only taking a couple. She said that prozac is one of the safest of this type of drug to take, and you can just come off it with no problems. Talk about conflicting information.
I know the best advice should come from a doctor, but for me theres nothing more valid than the opinions of people that have real experience of it.
best wishes
