I sort of fuss at that crave by saying things like:
"This is my life, my quit, my choice!!"
"Bite me! If I smoke Phil will come and get me!!" ;)
Hugs,
Tutti

Lainey posted an old thread with lots of good ones!
Thanks Lainey!!!!
here are some of my favorites:
From Bella:
"Aawww, Honey, remember, we don't do that anymore."
Another tip from Bella:
and making myself sing Copacabana, the Barry Manilow song, in my head is good for AT LEAST a couple of hours if I need to kick junkie talk out of my head...can't get that song out no way no how no matter how hard I try. Besides, the tune gets my head bobbing and next thing you know I'm dancing around the house! Get up and move...release stress!
lol..I love that one!!!!
JoeD added this one:

Anyone can not smoke for just one day.
Nessa The Quitter had this advice:
I just say over and over, It only lasts 3 minutes, this craving will be gone in 3 minutes. And it worked!!
Here's Ruthann's:
One is never enough. If I smoke one now,in 20 minutes I'll want another one and it won't be long til I'm back up to a pack a day. What else can I do to give myself a lift?
OK, enough for now.....got me through my after work cravings
Thanks again Lainey.....and all these quitter posters

Thanks, everyone! Some good ones there. I don't have any really creative strategies for this time of day....other than coming here. That usually helps. I also have a spoonful or two of nonfat yogurt. Sweet, but few calories.
Kita...Luckily I have my son here at times...I tell him I feel like smoking, then ask him why I'm not going to..then I answer "Because I'm not a smoker, that's why!" I'm hoping one of these days he'll join the conversation...lolol..and yes! We will be arm and arm in that one month parade!!! Yeah, us!!!
And Phil....luckily you won't have to start swimming anytime soon..ever, really

Great idea and you can also share some of your tips to push that crave away during this crucial time of the day :)

Some of the things I say to myself:
"If I don't have a cigarette, what bad thing will happen?"
"This doesn't just hurt me. It hurts the people closest to me."
"I've invested too much in being smoke-free to throw it away or go through it all over again"
"I was never intended to live out my life as a slave"
"Not smoking will never feel natural if I keep smoking"
"I'm a non-smoker by nature. Today I will cooperate with that"

That's when mine usually hit, too, a couple hours after lunch. I call it my "chocolate fix" and head for the candy machine. It's not really a craving for a smoke, just for chocolate.
