Lots of great ideas here to get through. I've had a few "moments" today, but each time I'm up against one I remind myself that this is only TEMPORARY. These moments will eventually fade away, and I know this because I lived through it not that long ago. Which brings me back to reminding myself that I don't want to keep starting over! Hi Jan, The first few weeks of my quit if I wasn't at work I was in my bedroom watching tv. Yes the dust was piling up and the the rugs had dog and cat hair on them but I was not smoking. I hear you Jan. Last week those voices were very loud in my head too. What is working for me is this "I am not going to smoke!". I can be having a conversation with the nicodemon, and in a moment of clarity I realize that what quietens the thoughts most is INTENTION. Works everytime. Of course, the conversation my continue or repeat in a matter of minutes, but I repeat "I am not going to smoke." and I'm with you WE CAN DO THIS!!!! Jan, Do whatever it takes to get through these first few days. I spent most of my time parked in front of my computer reading, posting and drinking gallons (and I mean gallons) of water. I even went to bed one night with dirty dishes on my counter (and I have a dishwasher!). Just take care of yourself and protect your quit.
