Yesterday was interesting!
The company sent me to an out of state health fair, and while there I got a free blood pressure check. I expected a good result since my quit, as previously my pressure has been just a tad high (140/90). My doctor is ready to put me on meds, but wanted to wait until after my quit is established and the chantix is done to see if it dropped.
Well, yesterday the result was a ride to the hospital since my pressure was 200+/100+. No headache, no palpatations, no symptoms at all. They were able to get it down to 188 (with meds)and let me drive the 2 hours to get home, and my daughter (Nurse29) was here to take it again and it was even a bit lower. I am seeing my doctor today for a bp check.
I am maybe a bit overly concerned since my mother passed away at age 56 from an aneurysm. I am pretty good with seeing my doctor several times a year and I keep a pretty close eye on any problems. This was not really one of my concerns.
Has anyone else experienced a dramatic increase in blood pressure since your quit?
I am also experiencing my worst crave since hell week...I'm sure its because of this added stress or maybe the 100 day hole. I won't smoke, but I sure have thought about it.
This too shall pass.
