Hi,
I dont know about that at all.
I can tell you the following facts.
- Medication such as anti-depressants and therapy (both
independently but even better when used together) can alter brain
chemistry functionality over a period of time. The benefits gained in
forming different thinking patterns and different responses to internal
body sensations and anxiety seem to be related to changes in brain
chemistry.
- electroshock therapy works on a similar premise
- there are operations which can be performed on the brain which are
meant to help with serious anxiety and depression.
My feeling is that you would have to be pretty desperate to go under
the knife. I believe this surgery involves manipulation of the frontal
lobe (no not a lobotomy!). Pretty scary but apparently effective for
some people.
Just to add to the other post. I wondered if any of you had come across that American Brain doctor, Niel Slade while cruising the net. This chap reckons you can click this Amygdala forward to make you feel better, done by simple imagination excersise.
I'm afraid i'm a little too British to believe in such rubbish, But just because i think that, doesnt make it not true, That you can click your Amygdala forward i mean.
Anybody ever tried it.
Best wishes

Hi all
I've just been reading about this thing called the Amygdala, which is a small part of the brain that is, or maybe responsible for the over active panic responses. It said that if you have a great deal of stress, this Amygdala thing resets itself to this level of stress (over time)which puts us into a constant state of anxiety (as the norm).
If this is so, then i wonder if it can be reset back to a normal level.
best wishes
