Good luck with your quit. I'm a Chantix user and it's wonderful. Other than a few side effects, it's a great NRT. You still have to want to quit, and believe me it hasn't always been easy. This website has been a great help when I'm feeling weak or frustrated. I realize that I can't do this alone, I don't think I would want to :)
We are here for you all the way, Congrats!!!!!!

Hi Rich3077, Prepare for your quit also, by doing the program to the left and reading all the posts you can, especially some of the older ones. There is great wisdom here that really helps. Prepare all you can and it will be much easier than you think!
(I bet you won't need the valium!) :)

Rich,
Congratulations on your decision to quit! Many here have been successful with the help of Chantix! Prepare yourself for your actual quit date by working the program here at the SSC and filling your glove compartment with as many strategies as you can to avoid a slip or relapse. Reading and posting here have saved my quit more than once! Stay strong, prepare yourself and make new friends here!

Today is day 5 since I started taking Chantix. I know for sure this stuff is working for me as the withdraws have started, even though I am still smoking 2 packs a day. Wow, what a weird thing to be able to smoke and they do nothing for you.
I can deal with this.. I just wanted to post to let everyone know I haven't given up. I also have the help of Valium that I can take at night after work to help relieve any really bad days.
I am not gonna pick a quit day until the worst part of my withdraws are over. I will be one day soon announcing my first smoke free day.
Peace
Rich
