BUSPAR

Hey mel, I read your post with great interest. I personally have not taken Buspar, ( may ask my Doc about it) but I can NOT tolerate SSRI's, so I was hoping there would be a few replies, either Pro or Con. I did do some research on the web, and it appears that Buspar is NOT addictive like SSRI's. Or maybe I should phrase that as "You can discontinue this medication at any time". If you do take this med, PLEASE let us (me ;)) know how it works for you. Good Luck!!

I know everyone reacts differently to medications but I am interested to know others experiences with Buspar. The anti-depressant route has never worked for me...none of them. This is not an SSRI from my understanding, more of an atypical one, whatever that means? Doc says the Buspar should slow down my anxious thoughts and help me to focus better. I have GAD and my mind is always all over the place making for a lot of uneasiness and nervousness. She is prescribing them in conjuction with a very low dose of klonapin, in which we will wean me off of after the Buspar starts to take effect. Any success stories with that particualr med? Mel
