4 Hi blondie, In a lot of cases, this is a gastric problem.  Anxiety makes some of us overbreath, and in doing that we have a tendency to swallow air.   Swallowing a lot of air makes our stomach and chest bloat, and overbreathing makes our chests sore - constant hyperventilation over time can actually weaken the chest muscles. Understanding this was a big hurdle for me to overcome as part of my recovery.  Now that I am breathing normally again, I seem to have much more control over panic, as I am not constantly breathing badly as a response to my anxiety.   Read this post of mine... http://www.paniccenter.net/support/viewmessages.cfm? What makes if feel better? If execise or walking make it better, it's just anxiety. With heart problems, ANY exercise will be very painful. I know for me, moving always helps. And...if a doctor told you you have a strong healthy heart, you must believe him. You would have had signs that he wouldn't have missed. Trust him. Danielle

See when i think about the chest pains, thats when they come on. I used to be so scared about that but after i found out it was anxiety i stoped worring about it. I am just worring about it. The doctor told me that I have a very strong heart and i am very healthy. I really dont think i have to worry because i run all the time and i play LOTS of golf. I dont think a heart problem would come on now. ~*~*Blondie*~*~ If you can post some replys it would be nice! Thanks :)

Have you had an EKG or a "Stress Test" for your chest pains? If not, you should see your doctor ASAP! However, if you have had these tests done, your chest pains could very well be anxiety. I personally had all these tests done, along with extensive blood-work, and everything came back OK. I still have occasional chest pains(sometimes quite bad) but I KNOW it's just anxiety and the pain generally subsides in a few minutes. When the pain occurs, try some form of meditation, it helps me. HTH, Good Luck!! Let us know how you're doing! :)
