Otis
I smoked for 37 years and I understand how ingrained this thing is in our souls and bodies...However, do what ever you have to to get through these first few days and weeks and you will walk into a whole new life...I promise you it gets easier, you just have to hold on NOW...Use distraction, deep breathing anything at all to pull through...

Congratulations, Otiscogram!!!!
Doesn't it feel great?????
And isn't Chantix wonderful??? I got through the first week pretty easily..then on the eighth day Wham!!! Those cravings were hitting me like labor contractions!!! One after another. I breathed deeply, distracted myself, and yelled....just a little......then they passed.
Good luck!

Otiscogram,
No quit is ever craving free. Don't get too discouraged, you're doing great! Just take it one crave at a time and employ those coping strategies and distractions when you need to.
Keep persevering!

Otis,
You got through the worst part. A bad day here and there can challenge your coping skills, but you can get through it and learn from it. What is causing the craves? Anything in particular?
Just don't smoke! Keep typing!

Otiscogram,
Congratulations on 5 days, that's huge. Rusty said it best, there will be good, bad and ok days, but remember even a bad day as a non-smoker is better than a good day puffing your life away! We are here for you whenever you need us.
Hang in there! Dupe

O, there is nothing to good to be true! You will have good days and blah days and mediocre days and great days...just like you did when you smoked! The good news is that you've made it FIVE days and that is awesome!

Wow, this Chantrix is really something! After all my attempts to quit and smoking for 55 years, I can not belileve how well this Chantrix works. Got thru those first four days quite well. Have been chewing some nicotine gum occasionally tho. Today, Oh boy, the cravings are really coming fast and furious. So far ao good.Guess it was too good to be true.
