Hi Blondie, How long were you with your boyfriend? I was in a fairly long-term relationship a few years ago and he thought I was 'weird' in my behaviour sometimes, which was because of anxiety and panic attacks in crowded situations like supermarkets, pubs and also when driving. He did nothing to help me and actually contributed greatly to my panic attacks getting worse. I was heartbroken over it all for ages but now I know that he wasn't worth it. If someone your with can't care enough to understand your having anxiety or panic disorder then they are NOT worth it. Personally I think it says more about him than it does you. Don't take it as a personal attack on you that he broke up with you. He's the one who needs and attitude and personality adjustment, if he lacks compassion, understanding and caring then is that really the sort of person you want to be with? I asked myself those same questions and decided that, no, I didn't want to be with someone who was obviously so up himself that he thought he was somehow above me just because I had an anxiety/panic disorder. One day, the shoe might be on the other foot for him and for your ex and he may find himself with some sort of medical condition where he needs someone understanding, only then will he realise what a stuck up pratt he's been. I know it hurts but please, trust me, your'e better off without someone like that - too many negative vibes! I find life less complicated now without a boyfriend, I can spend more time on myself learning how to cope with anxiety and doing things that are right for me instead of worrying how my life is affecting some boyfriend! Maybe you should focus more on yourself too. :)
