Hello friends, This is day three for me and most of it went okay. This evening I was talking with my husband and he told me 2 stories from work, one good news and one bad news. I was very interested in what he was telling, I was listening, and they were stories about people I knew. When he finished the second story I realized I couldn't remember a single thing about the first story. I've had a few similar incidents like this since quitting. When will this end? I'm a speech therapist, it would be very embarassing to be working with a stroke patient with short term memory loss and tell them I don't think I can help you because I just quit smoking!!!!!!!!! Please tell me I've only lost nicotine and not brain cells too! Dupe You are right on time...I felt like a bobble head doll for quite awhile...As long as you are not doing anything life threatening, its kind of fun to walk around like that (at least thats how I got through it)...Some of it is detoxing and the rest is well just bloody withdrawal...Go with it I promise the fog will clear... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 79 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,913 Amount Saved: $553 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 19 Mins: 24 Seconds: 6

Follow the light, Carol Ann! :8o: This is a normal process of quitting and one that scared me when it was happening. It will go away. Promise. I don't remember the exact duration, but I do remember the forgetfullness, spacey and dizzy feeling---an almost 'drugged' feeling. LOL I paid good money in high school for that feeling  No, I can assure you it's not a flashback from your activities at Woodstock or early dementia. It will pass with time! Load up on the Omega 3's. Salmon, blueberries,... LisaT, How are you feeling today? That spaced out feeling may be the result of carbon monoxide withdrawal. Until is passes, it may be wise to abstain from driving or have someone else drive you. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Dupe - I had the exact same problem. Everyone is different, but for me, the fog started to clear after the first week. Days 3-5 were the worst, and it has gotten gradually better every day since. So, look up today & you'll likely see the fog clearing away!
