JQ - What sleeping pill are you using? Can you taper it - e.g. take a half for a while? I am like you. I have had a previous attempt thwarted by sleep distrubances. No problem getting to sleep, but early wakenings, or just that not really sleeping kind of sleep. I have been use over the counter sleep aids during this quit. Not every night - probably 4 out of 7. They don't knock you on your back, out cold, but they help to a point. The sleep aid is part of my plan to keep quit. I am protecting it. I need my sleep to function and think. If I am tired and cranky, that is a recipe for disaster for me. Anyway, tapering back would be my advice. A physician would tell you not to stop these things abruptly - you may have a rebound affect. One thing at a time, one day (or one night)at a time. You are doing great! Hi JQ, First - awesome job on those 71 Days! There are lots of things that you can do to get better sleep patterns - one of which is starting to establish a routine that tells your body it's time for sleep. Almost like the habits we developed while smoking. You can try reading for a bit, listening to relaxing music, prayer or meditation, stretching. Some people have good results with melatonin but then you'll be replacing a replacement with a replacement ;p At least it's natural though. Eventually you'll adjust and boy will your body thank you then!
