Thanks Susie
Thats inspiring and good to know. I am only on day 8 and I still can't believe it sometimes that I quit. I will go to get in my car after work and think to myself I am forgetting something (my cigs) and then I have to remind myself that I quit. Some days are harder than others, like yesterday was hell, today seems better. Sometimes I wish I could just forget the fact that I smoked and get all of these smoking thoughts out of my head (they are there 24/7)! But as they say, one day at a time.
Congrats on your quit and keep going. Together we can all do it.
:)
Karen

I think I am starting to climb out of the 30 something pit. OK so I still feel bad in the morning but as the day progresses it is definitely getting better. I even got about an hour last night when I didn't have one thought! Sometimes it feels as though I am clinging to the mountain for dear life and sometimes I can let one hand go? Do you know what I mean? Oh for the day when I get to the very top and can look over the edge without fear! Have a good day everyone. :)

hello there. It's now late afternoon and I feel so much better again. When I look back to where I was 5 weeks ago, I can't believe I have come this far. For all the folks starting out on your quit, believe me when I say that it does get better. One day at a time. Sometimes one hour at a time. I am very much aware that I still have a difficult road to travel and sometimes the going will be very rough, but I just think of all of the quitters who have gone ahead of me. If they can....I can too. Hugs to all :)

I know what you mean. I can now let go with both hands for short periods. I can even go 2-3 hours without thinking about it - like when I'm at work. It keeps getting better. Someone Lady once told me - 'this is one day closer to never having to feel this way again.'
Keep believing in yourself.
