Susie, I realize that everyone is different, but please do not rule out "happy pills"!! There are so many different kinds now, trying different ones might help. I am on Welbutrin and with this med, I do not feel numb...... I am very thankful for it. I would not be here on this earth anymore if I hadn't reached out for help. Now, with that said...... You are doing an EXCELLENT job girl!!!! You have 42 days on your meter!!! That is GREAT!!! We all have our good and bad days. Some are way, way down while others are very high. Adjusting to your new nicotene-free life does take a while. Think of it as your body healing from all the years of abuse you did to it. It cannot heal overnight...... Whatever you choose to do to help yourself, just remember you are doing something wonderful for yourself. You are doing something that many fear, and you are succeeding!!! Reward yourself often. Maybe it is time for a special reward? Rewards really do lift spirits. Take care of yourself, and take the time to find yourself now. You are a new person living a new life! 4my2girls p.s.- Bananas help too........... And there is always herbal treatments like St Johns Wart. I used to take that everyday, and I really noticed the difference. Susie,
I have tried all the breathing, walking, exercising, yoga, water, hard candy, yah di yah di yah!!! It ain't working.
Guess What? :quest: It IS working! You are still smoke free. I know you will feel as if you will go insane some times but take a step back and look at yourself! Check out that meter! 41 days now! When that child is screaming inside of you scream back loud and clear "Yep! But I'm a quitter!" Congratulations! Sounds like it is reward time to me. What are you doing to reward yourself for a job well done? Susie, It can take quite a few weeks for your brain chemistry to re-adjust (around 17 weeks). I cried a lot during my first weeks, and had shorter bouts (2-3 days) every so often afterwards. I can't advise you whether to do the pills or not - only you can answer that one. If it does persist, you could take them for a few weeks until your neurotransmitters re-align! I kept going without and have been clear of any problems for some time now. Good Luck. I know it is tough some days. (((((((HUGS)))))) Lizzie

Susie, Don't apologize! We are here to listen and assist. It is great to see that you are making an appointment to see your doctor. This can help pinpoint anything medical. Please also take the time to visit our sister site at www.depressioncenter.net and take the depression test. You can take a copy to your doctor and this may help better assess the situation for you both :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
