back to heavy cravings - again!

Stubborn, The cravings come and the cravings go throughout the quit. It is like ending a bad relationship. At first you remember every day. Then you skip hours at a time and then it feels like day one again. Eventually those feelings go away and are replaced with other feelings. The time will come when you will not even think of smoking. It took me a long time to get to that point but I refused to give up and you need to do the same. No one can explain how wonderful it feels to be truly free of the enslavement of smoking. I am a cold turkey quitter, but I would recommend you follow the program as it is outlined on the patches. I have watched many quit with the patch and be successful. Each seem to experience a bit of discomfort with each step down but think of it as a time your body is healing. That is exactly what you are doing. You are healing. You smoked for many, many years. Unfortunatly, we don't get over smoking in a matter of a few days. If we did, a lot more people would quit. Hang in there. You are fighting for your life and it is worth it. I promise. Stubborn, don't feel bad about napping. I too have taken refuge in the comfort of my bed, as have many others. Any way to fight a craving is a good way. Of course we can't sleep forever....but we can sleep a lot if that's what we need to do to get us through. Good luck. Karen.
