Most symptoms have come and gone as I have progressed through the patch program. every time I go down to a lower mg patch I get a few days of headache, nervousness, etc. which eventually go away. But the 'spaced out' symptom (which as I noted should not be linked to nicotine anyway) has persisted. My 'feeling down' can be attributed to lots of things, most likely the weather this time of year. Can't it? The SSC talks about feeling "spaced out" as a withdrawal symptom and says that it may last for "the first few weeks after quitting." "Tips to help: Plan your workload to account for your temporary lack of concentration..." Since this is linked to the carbon monoxide withdrawal - and not to nicotine - I assume that the patch does not affect this symptom? It has been almost 7 weeks now and I still have extreme difficulty focusing for any length of time and feel very tired most of the time. Any suggestions on how many more weeks I might expect this? Planning my workload is becoming very difficult and things are starting to fall through the cracks. stubborn: If this continues, I would speak to your doctor...I understand what you are saying...There are days when I feel like a bobble head doll...People speak to me about the most mundane things and you would think they are explaining relativity...I usually just become the numbness if you will...I usually figure this is part of my trip, I mine as well dig it all... Are you drinking enough water?...My suggestion is to just keep drinking water and fruit juice and such...I think that there is a link between dehydration and this fuzzy feeling...Exercise of course is a great way to even your poor self out as well...I will be running tomorrow at 4:30 AM would love some company on those old cold streets... Well, you have company. I have taken to carrying around pen and paper at all times. If I don't immediately write it down, it is gone out of my head in seconds. I am having difficulty with concentrating and motivation is up and down. It is wearing on my confidence somewhat, but I refuse to allow this to be a reason for giving up on myself. It will get better and it is all for good. The physical affects of smoking last longer than just a few weeks. Everyone is different. So, you are not alone. If my head wasn't screwed on, I'd forget that too. I am desperately looking for my surgar bowl....it's here someplace.
