ashamed of myself

It isn't exactly that you control the crave...it's just that you do NOT give in to it. It's pretty normal to feel ashamed of a slip, but you need to drop the pity and move on with the quit. Nothing really is lost....you still have the fact that you denied the addiction for a time. That is what you have to KEEP doing. and Yes, I think you should always be truthful about what happens in this battle....it's hard enough without compounding it with lies. Tell her exactly what you told us.....explain that you "should" have planned a bit better....(disposing of ALL smoking materials)....and while you're at that you also get friends, co workers, neighbors, etc. to promise to NOT bum you smokes. Then you plan....what will you do when the crave won't let up???? a walk...a workout....a shower....some working project????? STOP the thinking of sinking!!! It is imperitive that you WANT the quit worse than you want a smoke!!! Now back to those smokes.....you "know" they should go....and You CAN do it!!! make this a new act of defiance toward the junky....shred and water down those smokes!!! DO IT! and let THAT be something to be GLAD and PROUD of get going now....kick some butt Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1831 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 73,270 Amount Saved: $10436.7 Life Gained: Days: 241 Hrs: 13 Mins: 46 Seconds: 14

slivers, How are you doing now? Take it easy on yourself and you must continue to keep trying. Have someone else throw them away for you, get rid of that temptation. One step at a time :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
