Marie that is what this support group is all about... Post often, rant, rave, ramble whatever you need to do to get through the minutes, the hours, the days, etc.... There's always people around to respond to you. And sweetie, laughter is the best medicine ever, even when you are laughing at yourself! Be strong dear one.. protect your quit with everything you have and when in doubt.. you have a little one right there who'll remind you with their eyes why you no longer want to smoke :)
((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) of support!

regarding your question, I have only been quit for about 3 months and I personally found that around 60 days my first response to stressful situations was suddenly not smoking. It was no longer the first thing on my mind and since then the days have really flew by. I don;t think cravings will ever really dissappear, but will change in nature. They are no longer mind shattering, I find myself easily telling myself "no" and thats that. I say hang on, you will get there. just remember N.O.P.E- my favorite coping mechanism!!
Good luck to you
keep on kicking those cravings and old nic's a$$ and remember
We are all here for you!! ;)

Marie,
After reading your last post, I say go girl!!!!! Realize that at this stage, your quit is like a teeny, tiny newborn baby. Protect it fiercely with everything you have! You haven't wasted a single second today! Arming yourself with the support and knowledge to keep your quit strong and healthy is the best thing you can do right now! You've got a real positive attitude now and that will really help you keep your quit!
A good laugh or two (even if its at yourself) helps too! Stay strong! Look forward to seeing that big first day on your meter tomorrow!

I have a craving every once in awhile. They are nothing like the ones I had in the beginning of my quit, it's just a quick thought. Oh yeah, I don't smoke....on to something else. I had smoked for over 25 years, have never felt better about myself.
Keep on reading. "Information is knowledge", not sure who said it, but it helped me alot!
