Admiring your honesty! Keep on quitting. Success is just around the corner. I've been 'quitting' for a long time as well. I don't know too many people who quit on their first try...will be looking for more posts from you soon! Trying, Your going to be OK. One breath at a time is how most of us make it through those first few days. I found that keeping my hands busy was something that kept me from going crazy. You could try a slinky or a Yo-yo. either one can go in your pocket and keep your hands busy until the crave passes. Find some substitutes for your mouth, toothpicks, a toothbrush, celery, carrots, sugarless gum or candy. straws, or cinnamon sticks to chew on. All can give you something to occupy your mouth and your hands. Take BFS advice and make yourself a plan, then keep it handy. Take in plenty of fresh air, breath deep and slow. Exercise will help, swimming, hot tub, shower...most of us never smoked there. Go to places that you can't smoke. Stay away from alcohol and from friends that still smoke. At this stage of the game, even the smell is a temptation. Good wishes, keep going, you can do this! trying, Thanks for your honesty! We are here for support and knowledge and we will not judge you or your quit. Take the time to go through the program step by step and use the available tools. It is free and can make a difference :) What have you got prepared? Get a basket of coping mechanisms together and reach in every time you have a crave. You may also want to make a list of activities and hobbies that will keep you occupied. We are ready when you are :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
