It really boils down to the fear of having an attack, you know your not going to die, but if you have an attack, the thoughts of dying come with it. Sometimes the reassurance from your safe person that you can leave if you dont feel well or anxiety comes on, will have an effect that you wont have an attack and enjoy yourself, rather than the we HAVE to go, we HAVE to stay scenario, that just adds to the pressure, especially since your not totally desensitized to your feelings and physical symptoms of anxiety yet, you have to set the pace for recovery. Dont you dare beat yourself up over it if you end up not going!! Or if you do and you did well, you BETTER get on here and tell us ALL about it!!
