Panic Attacks

Hi Sharon - And the other side of the coin ~ is to do some work with yourself regarding your panic attacks... Deep breathing, yoga, exercise, power walking, meditation... all can calm and take the power out of a panic attack. Like a crave, a panic attack can feel incredibly powerful, and the more we resist it, the more power we give it... A panic attack loses power as the clock ticks... if you make yourself acutely aware of this fact, that in and of itself can take the charge out of the panic energy... Taking the time to also breathe deeply, all the way down to your belly button, holding it and letting it go gently and deeply - can also take the power from the attack as YOU take your power back, dear one. Relaxation exercises also help immensely... Yes, talking to your doc is an option, of course. AND one can also choose to empower themselves by exploring the root of the panic, and how to best deal w/ the panic attacks... A full body massage helped me years ago when I experienced panic attacks, as did working with a life coach... I became aware of the patterns of my panic attacks, and I also did some work around what was causing them (with my life coach)... Find the answer that best works for you, dear one, as we're all different... I always try to choose the most self-empowering option when available... Do a search on the net - there is amazing info there regarding panic attacks and some ideas of what works... Sharon, Panic Attacks can be very serious. I agree with Rusty that you should discuss this with your physician. I have found that deep breaths and keeping things in perspective help as well. sharon, Every quit is different and yours will be unique. Take the time to check with your doctor to come up with a plan that is right for you and your situation. You may also take advantage of our sister site www.paniccenter.net this can give you more information on how to challenge your thoughts and push forward.
