Freedom: Get mad -- get really mad! At the addiction, at the fact that you're feeling the way you are BECAUSE of the addiction.
The ONLY way to never have to face this again is to kill the addiction. It's not a coincidence that non-smokers never feel the way you are right now.
Focus your anger on the addiction and as has been suggested, stomp, kick, bite, whatever it takes to keep the nicodemon away. He's bad news and will always be bad news.
HANG IN THERE, Freedom!
We're all behind you.
Keep the faith -- and your quit!

Keep on going Marie - You are winning! Do whatever you need to protect your quit ... housework, gym, walks, drink a gallon of water, take a nap, chew gum. I ate sour candy like it was going out of style and on the really bad days I just crawled under the covers till the cravings went away...and they did!
Better days ahead for you........all the best!

I have just added you to my Quitter's List. Didn't I explain that once you are included, slipping is simply not an option?

Distractions, distractions and more distractions...
Call a friend, clean -really clean - get in a closet and go through everything you need to keep and let go of what no longer fits in your life, just do anything that will take your mind away!
You're doing beautifully!

Marie,
My craves weren't ever 5 minutes long either. Some seemed they would never end. Know what? They do end and the freedom is worth every bit of agony you experience now.
Distraction is the key. Find something that occupies your mind and your hands. Take a lot of deep breaths and drink plenty of ice water. Kick, scream, fight, cry, break dishes, whatever it takes.
Just don't smoke!
Congratulations on TWO AWESOME smoke free days! Keep going!

Marie.....and where were you getting those "puffs" two days ago??? if you have smokes handy....GET RID OF THEM. cigarettes are for one thing and one thing only....to smoke. a quitter has NO need of smoking materials. I don't go for the ole gotta have them here to stop the panic thinking.....they stop the panic cause your addiction is soothed a bit knowing there is a chance of tripping you up and THAT is why you keep smokes. Destroy them if you have them. Tell friends, family, neighbors, etc, to NOT bum you a smoke. This is about stopping....make it tough to get at the addictive material...it may save your ass in a pinch.
hang tough...the cravings and withdrawal DO pass
